I was pulling from roughly 1400s Denmark for this project, one of the historical eras in which Hamlet is said to have been originally set. I also had the additional self-imposed challenge of incorporating yellow into the design. Yellow is a color associated with greed, cowardice, and betrayal which suits the styles of political and familial intrigue occuring in the plot of Hamlet and R&G. Additionally, yellow is a prominent color of both the Houses of Oldenburg and Valdemaratterdag, the two ruling Houses of Denmark in the 15th century, and likely worn to portray house allegience.
